Hey, it’s Free RPG Day! Last year, I used that as an excuse to launch my Substack and provide a free PDF of the first adventure in my Blackmore book.
This year, I’m doing something similar with a fun little offshoot of my recently published Saved by the Morph. Below, you’ll find a free PDF of a zine I call The Alarm Gives Out a Warning! A Highly Unofficial Essence20 Monster Manual Inspired by Saved by the Bell. This little book takes the creatures Brandon and I cooked up for SbtM and gives them stats for Renegade’s Essence20 system, which is, of course, where Saved by the Morph came from in the first place. Because Renegade doesn’t have an open license for their system, I can’t publish Essence20 stuff for money, but I sure as heck can still do it for fun!
As an FYI, to stat these characters I used Renegade’s Field Guide to Action & Adventure, which… A) it’s incredible a book like this exists and B) honestly this is a really great resource for GMs in general; it’s probably the most care I’ve ever seen a core RPG product give to helping folks just tell a good story at a table. Highly recommended, even if you’re not an unhinged dork like me.
